Remember The Maine
The USS Maine sank in Havana Harbor when Cuba revolted against Spain in 1933 and “Remember the Maine” became the catchphrase of the Spanish-American war that year as well as this now classic cocktail.

Ingredients
Rye 2 oz
Sweet Vermouth 0.75 oz
Cherry Heering 2 tbsp
Absinthe 0.5 oz
Maraschino Cherry 1
Directions
- Add Rye, Vermouth, Cherry Heering and Absinthe to mixing glass
- Fill glass with ice
- Stir until well chilled
- Strain into cocktail glass and garnish with cherry
