The Mint Julep one of the first American cocktails to go global and provide Europeans with some insight into the ways of the American bartender. And it can definitely be enjoyed anytime and not simply at the races.

Ingredients

Bourbon                         2.5 oz

Simple Syrup                1 oz

Mint                                4 sprigs

 

Directions
  1. Lightly muddle mint leaves and .5 ounce Simple Syrup in a Highball glass. Lightly muddle mint leaves and .5 ounce Simple Syrup in a Highball glass
  2. Add crushed ice
  3. Add Bourbon
  4. Add 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
  5. Stir
  6. Garnish with Mint sprig
