Labor Day is a federal holiday in the US dating back to the late 19th century. While today it is considered the unofficial end to the summer, it originally was made a holiday to celebrate and recognize the contributions of workers, laborers, to the prosperity and strength of the United States.
As we get together with friends and family this weekend to enjoy one last summer bbq, let’s raise a class to ourselves and our ancestors for the long hours and effort everyone has put forth to make this country great.
